Louwman Group invests heavily in auto.nl strategy

The demand for good, young and reliable used cars is higher than ever, caused by the supply chain issues for new cars. Therefore, Louwman Group shifts into a higher gear in the professionalisation of (online) second-hand car sales. A new business unit will soon launch, combining the activities of Louwman Occasion Center (LOC) and auto.nl. The new division will be led by Marco Broere, who previously was the General Manager of Louwman Dealer Group.

“Within Louwman Dealer Group, we have always focused on the sales of second-hand cars more than the average organisation”, Broere says. “I’ve recently been having many conversations with Eric Louwman about the opportunities we see ahead of us. Further giving shape to the ambitions of the group regarding second-hand cars is a challenge I’m taking on with much enthusiasm. With the knowledge, experience, and data regarding second-hand cars we gathered at Louwman Dealer Group and auto.nl, we’re going to take great, refreshing steps in this segment of automotive retail! Our new plans will be effectuated around the first of May 2023.

Combination of auto.nl and Louwman Occasion Center (LOC)

With the creation of this new business unit, Louwman takes a firm position on the second-hand car market. Auto.nl proves that the consumer wants an online portal with a unique customer proposition, and LOC is successful at the combined purchasing and pricing, presentation, and positioning of used cars. “By combining both activities under the name of auto.nl, we’re giving an extra boost to this growth acceleration,” Broere says.

Powerful formula

Auto.nl will also work closely together with Louwman Dealer Group to assist the affiliated brand dealers with the sales of second-hand cars. They will use a powerful formula to do this, so buyers can count on well-documented, young cars with extended warranties, as well as a wide selection of additional services.

Full focus on second-hand cars

Louwman is one of the first dealer groups in the Netherlands to launch its own omnichannel formula with a focus on second-hand cars. This fits the ambition of Louwman to make mobility available to everyone.

Effective May 1st, Martin Post will be the General Manager of the Louwman Dealer Group dealer companies.

Post has extensive knowledge and experience regarding the automotive and retail industry, which he gained, among other things, as CEO at Kwik-Fit Nederland Groep. For over twelve years, he held this position in an organisation where excellent customer service is the main priority. Louwman looks forward to his arrival at Louwman Dealer Group, where he will continue and further expand Broere’s work and the course that has been set.
