A sense of
As a mobility company and provider of healthcare assistive resources, we at Louwman Group are true entrepreneurs. We are also a family business where it’s all about people. For nearly 100 years! We feel closely involved with our customers, employees and society. We have a sense of responsibility and we shoulder that responsibility.
Mobility and independence
People, Planet, Profit
Most often, each part of the company substantiates CSR in its own ambitious way. Not only are the automobiles in the showrooms rapidly becoming more environmentally friendly, the integration of green action items in business operations also has more attention than ever. Initiatives in the areas of labour force participation, CO2 compensation, the circular economy, clean energy and vehicle recycling increasingly dominate the agenda.
But we also wish to contribute to an environment in which people live sustainable and healthy lives, and work and care for each other. That’s why we think long and hard about the consequences for tomorrow of today’s activities And we opt for corporate social responsibility (CSR), with a balanced focus on social-ethical norms (people), the environment (planet) and entrepreneurship (profit).
On the road to inclusive employment
We work intensively and in a driven way towards being an “”inclusive employer””: offering more and better opportunities to those looking for work but with an employment-related challenge. Because people on social assistance or with physical, mental or intellectual disabilities often have difficulties finding a job. Together, we look at how we can help them find a job.
Against this backdrop, we have gone through the PSO certification course (the performance ladder for doing business more socially) – a measurement and recording instrument focused on employment participation for vulnerable groups. We want to deal as well as we can with the differences among people, take advantage of the added value of diversity and, in this manner, make use of the potential in the employment market. We have charted a clear course through 2030 based on sustainable employment: complete transparency, maximum diversity and inclusion.
Louwman Care and circularity
Louwman Care also has the goal of being a completely circular enterprise by 2030. Climate-neutral materials are consciously used; the re-use of raw materials is encouraged and waste streams are reduced as much as possible. Parts that can no longer be used – such as inner tubes and wheelchair spokes – get repurposed, turned into corporate gifts, for example.
On the road to climate-neutral business operations
At our Care compannies Welzorg, Auto op Maat, Woning op Maat and RSR, we are headed towards becoming a certified climate-neutral enterprise. The goal: reducing CO2 emissions to zero in 2030. This objective is part of the CSR programme “Today for Tomorrow”. Ambitious, but realistic. Precisely by taking many small steps together over the course of 10 years, lots can be achieved. For example, we invest in cook stoves in Uganda, for example, (efficient, cleaner charcoal ovens) to compensate for the CO2 emissions of company buses. Moreover, this not only provides for a healthier living environment for the Ugandan population, but also for employment and personal development.||Array
Toyota has a long history when it comes to sustainability and the environment.
The sustainable world of Toyota
Toyota has a long history when it comes to sustainability and the environment. This is something that we, as the Dutch Toyota organisation, are proud of. The company was the first car manufacturer to have its own division for recycling vehicles. Toyota was also the first to produce a hybrid car in series. And: a fuel-cell car without noxious emissions. Toyota’s long-term vision is focused fully on reducing the impact on our environment. This goes for manufacturing, product use and recycling alike. Toyota wants to continue to play this pioneering role using the latest technologies. This means even more recycling, protecting natural resources and using sustainable energy sources as much as possible. Work is also being done on cleaner and more efficient transport systems.
Our entire Toyota and Lexus dealer organisation has been certified as Erkend Duurzaam Plus.

All of these activities benefit mankind and the environment. In the meantime, we’re working on many more beautiful initiatives. Initiatives that we can implement only by working together sustainably. By continuing to feel responsible and doing things better than yesterday each new day.
Ahead of us, there’s a fantastic road to travel. Together with customers, employees and society. And we’re going there too. Because together we are Louwman.
